Trying out some of the items I pinned from Pinterest. These hats and scarves turned out really cute. We even made them for the American Girl Dolls.

Flip flop hangers
Found flip flops for $1 a pair today so I couldn't resist buying several colors. Then I discovered I needed a simple way to store them. Of course I checked out pins on pinterest first. Found something, but I made my own version.

I used pants wire hangers. I pulled the cardboard tube off first. Then bent the wire around into a circle. The pants hangers already have a hook at the end. To save space, I'm going to attempt to hook the hangers together to form a chain.

Breaking the white tube in half makes it easier to get it off the wire hanger.
Then you will have the 2 little hooks already made for you to hang the flip flops.
I bent the hook to keep the hangers together.
The flip flops show better when you put the hook in front of the hanger.
These are my daughters little flip flops. Kid Size 10-11.

Tablecloths to curtains
Made a shower curtain from a 70 x 108 inches tablecloth today. Just attached 1-1/2 inch Clip Rings to it and hung it on a separate shower rod from the plastic one. So easy and NO sew!
Next projects are curtains from a tablecloth. Probably use clip rings on it too, but I need to cut the tablecloth in half and sew the seems to make 2 curtains. I'm also finally finishing a denim patchwork quilt top that I put together years ago. Just need to add binding. Pictures to come.

Felt Heart hair-clips
Working on these super cute Valentines Day felt heart hair-clips from 'the Purl bee' blog. Even my 4 year old made a couple. Usually I'm a perfectionist when it comes to machine and hand sewing, but with this project I tried not to be perfect to give the hair-clips a folk art look.
I made them a little larger (large heart 1 1/2", small heart 1") and used a bobby pin instead of a clip. I cut 2 small slits in the back heart to hold the bobby pin in place. Remember, wavy side of the bobby pin goes down. I also put the bobby pin top to bottom on the heart so that the clip could be worn on either side of the head.
One tip I would give is to cut the felt into squares first. Then fold them in half and then take the heart template and fold it in half and cut the heart just like you would do when making a heart from a square piece of paper. Hope this makes since.

Butterflies and purple 1st Bday Party
Just wanted to share my pictures from our Butterflies and purple 1st birthday party. The candy bar was a big hit. We covered the countertop with wrapping paper.
